Film-makers

Jenn Figg investigates mythologies, place, and space through hybrid sculptures, installations, and virtual environments. She graduated with a BFA in Textiles from Rhode Island School of Design, and a MFA from the University of California Santa Barbara. Her work has exhibited nationally including the Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Forum, the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, and most recently in at the Schuylkill Center in Philadelphia. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Media, Art, and Text at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Jennifer Smith is a Ph.D. student in the Media, Art, and Text program at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in English Literature from VCU. Her research focus is the intersection of new media literature and traditional literary techniques, with particular interest in the notion of mimetic possibility and strategies of narrative discourse.

Sean Stewart has degrees in public relations and advertising from Marshall University and has worked in communications for government and corporate agencies. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Media, Art and Text from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Kristine Trever has a B.A. in Film Studies and an M.A. in Media Arts, both from Wayne State University. She is film and video producer, cinematographer and editor with special interest in documentary production and has exhibited a variety of her works both nationally and internationally. She is currently a full-time doctoral student in the Media, Art and Text Ph.D. program at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she teaches broadcast courses and is the editor of VCU InSight.

Melinda White is a perpetual student and a writer, particularly using new media as a tool of expression. She has a master's degree in literature and writing and a bachelor's degree in professional and technical writing, both from Utah State University. She is currently in the PhD program in Media, Art, and Text at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she teaches courses in hypertext/new media and postmodern literature.
